Grammys: Taylor Swift's 'rude snub' towards Celine Dion after making history
Celine Dion made a surprise appearance at the Grammys amid her battle with an incurable health condition, however, some weren’t impressed with how Taylor Swift ‘greeted’ the star.
The My Heart Will Go On singer came out to present the final Grammy award, Album of the Year, to which she received a standing ovation. Taylor Swift was the one who won the prestigious award, for her album, Midnights. However, some fans weren’t too impressed with her as she went up on stage, as they felt she ‘snubbed’ the music icon. But, as always, the rumors were put to bed in the end.

Taylor Swift ‘slammed’ for ‘snubbing’ Celine Dion
After being announced as the Winner of Album of the Year, for the fourth time the Cruel Summer singer shared quick celebrations and embraces with Jack Antonoff and Lana Del Rey, but the same can’t be said for Celine.
When arriving onstage to receive her award, the singer could be seen taking the gramophone off Dion, without saying anything to her, or even giving her much eye contact.
It was clear from the start of the announcement that the star was in shock that she’d just made history, being the only music star in history to win the award four times, but some fans weren’t accepting that as an excuse.
“The legendary CELINE DION making her first appearance in years amidst her health battle just to be paid dust by Taylor Swift,” wrote one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
A second disappointed fan wrote: “The way Taylor Swift just took the Grammy out of Celine Dion’s hand and didn’t even hug her or thank her … how rude.”
“Ok…. I love Taylor Swift just as much as the next, but that snub to music royalty Celine Dion was so distasteful. Taylor didn’t even make eye contact with Celine when she grabbed the Grammy…gross…,” penned a third.
However, others rushed to the star’s defense after the overwhelming moment: “Did Taylor Swift disrespect or snub Celine Dion? No. Was she clearly distracted by someone behind her at the exact moment Celine Dion handed her the award? 100000%.”
In December 2022, the All by Myself singer announced she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, and would be stepping away from performing.
When entering the stage to a standing ovation, she exclaimed: “Thank you, all! I love you right back. You look beautiful. When I say I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart.”
The icons put the rumors to bed

Despite what social media has been saying, the two music icons put the ‘feud’ rumors to bed as they shared some smiley snaps backstage.
In one photo, Swift was pictured leaning her head on the 55-year-old, as she placed her arm around her and both smiled for the camera.
The pair even coordinated with their outfit choices, as they both opted for wrapped fabric dresses with thigh-high cuts.
Although neither has commented on the ‘interaction’ the pictures say a thousand words, and the ‘feud’ rumors can well and truly be put to bed.
After an eventful night of two Grammy wins, and announcing her album, Taylor has no time to stop as she’s off to Tokyo before (hopefully) returning to the States to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl next weekend.
