A Magee man is in custody in George County and facing charges in Ellisville after being accused of passing bad checks in both locations.

Justin Devale Baugh, 35, is accused of using a bad check to purchase a trailer at Endom Trailer in on Feb. 22. Ellisville police were made aware that Baugh had since been arrested by the George County Sheriff’s Department for using bad checks at two businesses there.

EPD Investigator Kyle Pickett coordinated with Investigator Sgt. Robert Karg of the GCSD to put a hold on Baugh at the jail there so he could be picked up by EPS to face a charge of false pretense. Judge Travis Haynes signed the arrest warrant.

Karg found receipts from when Baugh used the check at Endom Trailer, Pickett said.

“We at Ellisville Police Department are reaching out to the public, as is (GCSD) to make businesses in the Pine Belt aware of this type of activity,” Pickett said. “Mr. Baugh has passed checks in many places and the investigation is ongoing both here and in George County. If you believe your business has been defrauded, we urge you to contact your local law enforcement agency and file a report.”
