Laurel firefighters have reorganized the local firefighters’ union. The Laurel Firefighters Association Local 207 was chartered in 1919 under the International Association of Firefighters.

Over the years, the Local 207 has been an advocate for firefighter safety, fair labor practices and a safe workplace. The union has also been involved in community projects such as a Christmas toy drive for children in need.
